T.I.I. (Tokyo International Institute) is one of the subsidiaries of the public organization MLA Creation Co., Ltd., which oversees international exchange programs held worldwide. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for international exchange to all members, not just within the organization, and to deepen “international goodwill and mutual understanding.”
Our Partners
At Tokyo International Initiative (T.I.I.), we proudly partner with student organizations from over 15 universities around the world to promote meaningful international exchange.
Our activities span the globe—sending students abroad for short-term exchange programs at our partner universities, and welcoming students to Japan for unforgettable cultural immersion. Each year, we host five dynamic one-week programs in Japan, bringing together around 40 international students from diverse backgrounds.
These programs are more than just travel—they’re a gateway to authentic cultural understanding. Participants take part in company visits, sightseeing adventures, hands-on cooking classes, and explorations of Japan’s rich traditions. From lively cityscapes to serene cultural experiences, every activity is designed to foster friendships, inspire curiosity, and deepen mutual understanding across cultures.

Our admissions are open to motivated university students—both foreign and Japanese—who seek not only to expand their global perspective but also to actively contribute to international exchange. Whether it’s deep cultural immersion, academic dialogue, or career-focused opportunities, our programs provide a platform where learning meets real-life impact.
Our mission
At T.I.I, our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for international and Japanese students to connect, learn, and grow together through immersive cultural, academic, and professional experiences.
We believe in breaking barriers between cultures and building bridges of understanding through programs like the Tokyo International Culture Week (TICW) and the Tokyo International Student Conference. By combining hands-on cultural activities, company and school visits, student discussions, and real-world networking, we aim to empower participants with the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to thrive in Japan and beyond.
